Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 13, 2026
PressViable™, a service of Editorial Style LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), provides newsroom staffing and feasibility modeling tools (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you use the Services.
Personal information we collect
- Contact details: name, email address.
- Account information: username, password (encrypted), sign-in method.
- Model inputs: staffing roles, salary figures, revenue assumptions, target market/geography, and other assumptions you enter to build a Model. These typically describe roles and figures (e.g., “Editor-in-Chief: $95,000”) rather than named individuals, but you should avoid entering personal information about specific real people beyond what’s necessary (e.g., avoid entering a named employee’s salary where a role title would do).
- Communications: any messages you send us, such as support requests (including the reason, market/scenario referenced, and message content submitted through our contact form).
- NDA and access records: if PressViable™ requires an NDA or similar agreement before granting access, we retain the electronic signature record and related correspondence confirming your acceptance.
- Device information: IP address, browser, and similar technical data collected automatically.
Information about organizations you evaluate
When you build a Model, you may input information about an organization other than your own (for example, if you are a funder evaluating a prospective grantee, or comparing scenarios). This information is user-supplied and is not independently verified by PressViable™. We do not knowingly collect information about named individuals through Model inputs beyond what you choose to enter, and Model outputs (scores, feasibility assessments) are generated from aggregate role- and figure-based inputs rather than named-individual data.
Sources of personal information
We collect personal information: directly from you (account creation, Model inputs, communications); automatically through your use of the Services; and from service providers who help us operate the Services.
How we use your personal information
- To provide the Services: create and manage your account, generate and save your Models, and send related notifications.
- To communicate with you: respond to support and contact-form requests.
- For security and fraud prevention: authenticate accounts, detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- For legal reasons: comply with applicable law or valid legal process.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for behavioral or targeted advertising. We may use aggregated or de-identified information for product research and improvement.
How we disclose personal information
We disclose personal information — such as your name, email address, electronic signature records, and correspondence — only to trusted third-party service providers that assist in operating the Services, subject to confidentiality obligations:
- Application Hosting & Database Infrastructure: Base44, which provides our cloud hosting, authentication, database storage, and edge function compute.
- AI Strategic Brief Synthesis: Anthropic, where scenario modeling data (staffing numbers, budget projections, and market operational assumptions) is processed to generate the “AI Executive Strategic Brief” feature. No personal account identifiers are shared with AI model providers for advertising or model training purposes.
Market feasibility queries also pull public macroeconomic and demographic benchmarks — such as U.S. Census ACS demographic tables, Bureau of Labor Statistics wage medians, and IRS 990 aggregates — from public federal datasets. These requests contain only geographic parameters; no personal user information is ever disclosed to federal agencies or public data repositories.
We also disclose personal information:
- As required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PressViable™, our users, or others.
- In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
Cookies and similar technologies
PressViable™ uses only essential technologies necessary to operate the Services, such as authentication session storage and temporary local storage of an in-progress Model draft so you don’t lose your work. PressViable™ does not use analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies or tracking pixels of any kind, unless this changes and this Privacy Policy is updated accordingly.
Data retention
Account data and saved Models are retained to provide continued access, unless you request deletion or applicable law requires a different retention period. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
Children’s data
The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us to request deletion.
Do-Not-Track signals
Some web browsers transmit “do-not-track” signals. Because of inconsistencies in how browsers implement this feature, we do not currently take action in response to these signals.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; and receive a copy of your information in a portable format. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
International transfers
We primarily maintain and process information in the United States, in accordance with U.S. law, which may not provide the same level of protection as the laws of your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you understand and agree that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy here with an updated “Last updated” date.
